Purpose of human life....

Our life is a journey and during this entire journey one can't stop even for a while. This entire journey is not just a matter of  failure or success..... In fact it begins  with the birth and continues till one die... Does it mean that the aim of the life is to simply move on till our death.....No, it can't be....!!!

Then what is the meaning of this entire journey...???
Actually when I think about it, I find that starting from childhood...Adolescence...youth and then getting old...all is set...and at any point of time if someone try to remain in any of these stages then its just not possible...absolutely not possible.....

Now my idle mind is thinking that if every thing and every stage of our life is set by
nature then how to make our life meaningful and valuable...??? Because simply living the whole span of life is in no way an achievement, In fact its a natural process and every living thing on this earth lives its span of life....So what we as a human should do to make this journey valuable...???

At times, for fulfilling our dreams and getting our ambitions achieved, we just keep on running behind the goal and while running blindly into this race, we just don't notice that when n how our VALUES...MORALS and IDEALS have started losing its breath.....

So, can there be an end of our dreams....our ambitions...???

Well, I personally feel that its always necessary to have some control over our ambitions....Now one may argue that to succeed one should have ambitions and i do agree that one must be ambitious butttttttt my point is he/she should never be overambitious.

Actually one must learn the technique to resist him/herself from entering into the blind race of  life kn this materialistic age because our life is precious and its not at all to simply run behind goals blindly.... In fact during this entire journey there has to be some space for satisfaction, so that our VALUES....MORAL and IDEALS remain intact and at no stage of life they start feeling breathlessness......

So in my view the purpose of life(apart from different beliefs or religious explanations)  is to complete this journey with integrity without damaging our Values, Morality and Ideals.

  2. Hello Irfanji,

Very true. Holding on to values and morals in life saves us from many problems. One must not let his ethics take a backseat to join the rat race of life.

  3. I agree BUT if we all think like this there wud be no new inventions ..no new technology ...no new theories and implementations ..life wud be like stagnant water ..
I would say change is spice of life and variety is something that gives a chance to mew entrepreneurs to step inn...so
purpose of life ..when we leave the world people shld say "here goes another one with generations to remember "
(that what they said when Steve Jobs left the world)
it can be anyone ...even a social worker or helping needy ...BUT a face in the crowd :)

  4. Very deep topic and unfortunately I don't agree with your conclusion. Values, Morals, Ideals all change through our lives whether we realize it or not.

Without hijacking your page, I'd just share my own philosophy of life which is in this quote:
    PLAN for tomorrow,
    LIVE for today,
    PARTY tonight!!

    1. well my friend...there is no point of hijacking..its all about our opinions and difference of opinion can always be there....
and yes, i agree with ur philosophy and this will be perhaps more effective if we do these keeping those three ingredients intact....thank you.

  5. There is no guarantee that we will all live up to old age. My take on life is to live it to the fullest, loving the best and not to keep grudges. The rest will all fall in place if these are taken care of...

  6. I think more than the purpose, you have set in the value of living our life.

I do agree it's dynamic ~ we undergo stages and for that we say goodbye to some things and move on to new ones inorder to grow.

I commend you for what you have strongly pointed out here...I was tempted to look at the younger generation but IDEALS, MORALS, VALUES hold true even for us, more so because the youth look up to us as role models.

We should then live these IDEALS and MORALS ~ preaching it with our actions more than words...gently reminding the people around us that we are responsible for each other.

Wonderful come back post Irfan :)

  7. Irfan bhai,
    Very inspiring post.
Our jouney through this world can't be without serious purpose. Leaving the religion aside, as per common sense we need to live peacefully and let others live peacefully as well.
Prefering to serve others over us is real sacrifice which can be the best example for the whole humanity.
    Take care my friend!

  10. I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be honorable,
to be compassionate. It is, after all, to matter: to count, to stand for something,
to have made some difference that you lived at all.

  17. We all are here for some specific purpose and I totally agree leading the whole life is not enough to make it purposeful.
Our moral values and ideals need to be conserved for the each stage. They virtue our senses and identification to be followed!

    A great post indeed :)

  20. Life is allabout living by ones conviction.
Living a life without harming anyone.
Being honest as much as possible

  21. "Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what is heaven for? " wrote Robert Browning . There is nothing wrong in being ambitious but that does not mean that one that to meet one's ambition , others are to be trampled under foot.

Besides, "हम क्या कहे अहबाब क्या कारे-नुमाया कर गए बी ए हुए, नौकर हुए, पेंशन मिली, फिर मर गए .." only speaks of life routinely spent, with no achievement or meaning whatever. This situation is also not good.

    A thought provoking post !

  23. one of the most difficult questions that we spend a lifetime trying to find an answer to!
but you did manage to answer it quite simply and well

  24. Very well said, one should not loose his true character, value while chasing any ambition or dream but it does not happens usually. We instead of listening to our heart calling, we include ourselves in blind race of the society and we always try to out do each other. Contentment is bigger concept and sometime it is very hard to measure contentment level. So in this confusion people start compromising with their soul and start making it dirty.
So My thought on this would be people should listen to their heart and completly enjoy the journey without the fear of failure or success.
    Lovely write up...

  26. Irfanuddin,

Read 2 pending posts now. Both have very valuable and constructive suggestions. Blend of old and youth will surely do wonders if it is taken seriously. One should have dreams or ambitions but should never wilfully harm someone to achieve those.
