Surviving Winter.....

Hello friends....
All of you living in Northern or Eastern part of India, very well be knowing that how the temperature is falling every minute in these part of India.....Well, the mercury level is dropping down every minute like the morality falls in our day-to-day life.... :(

Frankly speaking, since last couple of days, instead of living my life out of the comfort of my warm blanket, i am seriously thinking about going into hibernation. Butttttttttttttttttt for some one like me(a middle class Indian) earning bread n butter is perhaps much more important then thinking about those comfort of  life.......

I remember, during my childhood my mother would heat the water, give me a bath, wipe me and wrap me in a Razai, making it sure that I was ready to fight every minute falling mercury level. Even I used to have my dinner form her hands while hiding myself totally inside that Razai....Actually back then winter did not seem as harsh as it seems now....THANK YOU  MOM :)

But now, may be because of AXE EFFECT( AGE EFFECT actually), this lowering mercury level making it difficult for me to live a normal life.....

Every night before going into sleep, I ask myself  "Should I wake up early in the morning and go for a walk or stay back in the comfort of my warm blanket for another two hours.....???"

While having my morning tea, instead of concentrating on the newspaper in my hand, I keep on thinking "Should I take bath or not...???"  And if I am not taking bath "should i spend some time inside the bathroom and come out after sprinkling some water into my hair so that others don't come to know that i didn't take bath....."

Again in the evening after coming back from workplace, I am in dilemma  "Should I wash my face or not...???"    If not,  "should I stay for a while inside the bathroom keeping the tap open and pretend to be fresh when I come out.....???"

Well, you might be smiling now on my cowardliness but for me taking these decisions are not that easy and that makes the winter even more bitter for me....... :(

Buttttttttttt after all these hardships of winter,  out of all the weathers, I like Winter most because....
"Surviving Winter together brings the couple closer"....isn't it....???

  26. Oh we don't have winter in my country LOL but there are times when the climate is cold and taking a bath becomes a difficult task. We usually warm the water.

I experienced winter without snow in North Africa. But we have hot and cold water so there was not much problem.

Hmmm... so winter's good for couples... how about the singles? LOL...

  28. Hello.
I know those winters only too well. Here in eastern USA, the temperature is slowly dropping & the usual sings of winter are starting to creep in...the dark evenings, the frost in the mornings & the crispness in the air. Smiling...I like the romantic element at the end. ;-)
Thanks for sharing & visiting. I appreciate the comment.

  44. You certainly have a few dilemmas to contend with in winter. I believe winter is far better than summer. One you don't sweat however hard you work & you don't get tired. In Delhi all air conditioners get converted to air heaters in winter so that you remain warm & cosy. They revert back to a/c's once winter is over. Winter also ushers in fashion in woolen wear. Ladies must wear a different cardigan on different days of the week - men too have a wider wardrobe these days. And wear a range of jackets too.
Your intake of ambrosia is higher in winter to ensure that you remain warm & comfortable from the inside. You can light your fire place or have a bon fire outside - pleasures that are restricted to winter.
And Indian winters are actually mild compared those in Europe or the US, where the mercury touches minus 20 degrees or even lower & you have heavy snow fall.

  48. Irfan bhai, I miss winter here in the south. I spent my childhood in West Bengal and Bihar and really enjoyed the warm afternoons and the razais at night! But let us hope the cold wave abates and makes life easier for the poor and those who cannot afford protection from the cold and those whose livelihoods are affected by the cold. Advance wishes for a happy new year!

  54. winter is real harsh here in Canada, yet no need to be pretentious as warm water and centrally heated homes make it easier to take shower daily.
But in India and Pakistan (except taking shower), it's much comfortable, rather December is warm.
Go for Hajj or Umra, you will find December very hot--
Madinah is colder than your country.
