" POOR SANYIAA "

Remember those olden days hindi songs, every second song used to be dedicated to Sanyiaa and Piyaa only......
PIYAA TOOooooo AB TO AAJA.......
SANYIAA PAKAD NA MERI BANHIYAA.....
SANYIAA ROOTH GAYE, MAIN MANAATI RAHI.....
etc....etc....etc.....

On the other hand, if you look at modern songs.....there is nothing much left for Sanyiaas........
Pahle Munni  badnaam hoti thi Sanyiaa ke liye, but our modern Munni is badnaam for Darling...... you know very well that.... Darling can be a companion but not necessarily a Sanyiaa.....

Even Sheela ki jawani is not left for Sanyiaa now....
Look at the song, it says.....
TERE HAATH NA AANI - SHEELA KI JAWAANI

Thanks to Amir, at least he bothered to dedicate a song to Sanyiaa in Peepli Live....
SANYIAA TO KHOOB KAMAAT HAI
MANHGAAYI DAAYEN KHAAYE JAAT HAI

So ultimately its "Manhgaayi Daayen" only left for modern days Sanyiaa......
Neither Munni................................Nor Sheela
" POOR SANYIAA "

    so true, "Darling can be a companion but not necessarily a Sanyiaa", time has changed, our culture has changed and accordingly the fate of modern Sanyiaas has changed,bechaara Sanyiaa, a poor guy :)

    shukar manao irfaan ki "munni badnaam or sheela ki jawani" jab hum sunte hain to "mehngaai jaisi daayen"ko thodi der ke liye bhool kar hans to lete hain warna ye "mehngaai naam ki daayen" to hame har pal rulaati hai.

    Well...one thing is sure..now our modren world has prominently showed that :

    "Orr bhi dukh hain zamanay mein muhabbat k siwa"

    And thus....songs can be dedicated to the people other than Sayian or Piya....

    Sheila ki jawani has become like a rhyme even for KG kids. The lyrics lack the feel but the music seems to be catchy and every KG kid is singing this song in schools and at home. So move over sania, sonia, eena and meena's.

    BTW i liked your previous post on self-praise. What you have written there reflects the present day society. Good post and thanks for your comment on my blog.
