Our New Tourist Place....

Those of us, who live in big cities must agree that Shopping is no more a Festival time activity... rather Shopping now a days, that too in Large Malls is a 365 days business.

In fact the young ones have a concept that apart from their college or work place and Homes, these Shopping complexes are the most important places to be.

No doubt these shopping centres are good... they represent the shining economic growth of the nation....These multilevel air-conditioned Malls represent Comfort...Choice...Luxury and of course better times... Its the place where we shop...eat...watch movies...bowl...meet our friends... and even have a romantic date.

Recently when I was visiting my friend in a big city... My dear friend said..." hey, Irfan...you must see our new Shopping Centre... its massive and has got a lot to watch for..."

And my idle mind started thinking that..." Are these Shopping Malls  becoming like modern age tourist places for us...???"

  2. Very true! The mall culture is picking up everywhere! And they are becoming boring too! The same shops , the same food outlets, way too expensive clothes. Movies are the main attraction for me. In Dubai, the malls are well designed and huge. They by themselves are tourist attractions here! The shops inside are an added bonus! :)

  7. That looks like a nice mall. Where is it? May be we should visit... No way, just kidding Irfan. :)

Honestly I am afraid of malls these days. It feels suffocating to be inside such huge structure without any windows or fresh air...
    - especially after hearing news about thwarted attack plans here and there.

  9. Oh yes indeed they are becoming quiet a sport these days, these larger than life Malls. And you are right, being in the Mall is more about having a good time than mere shopping, though that also comes with the package.

  11. malls - the window or rather the door to the latest in technology and brands and hence perhaps it sort of becomes a hangout with their cafes and bowling alleys , but when it comes to buying nothing like our local markets where we can haggle and buy at nearly half the mall rates.

  12. Bangalore has great weather but in Delhi with the weather being so cruel, malls are the only place one can go in hot summers and foggy winters.

  13. haha..true. Shopping malls have become the hang out spot and like a tourist attraction.

a british friend of mine recently visited bangalore and when she returned back to england, she was talking of shopping malls and eateries as if they were some attractions.

  14. The Indian malls have lost their novelty element. My personal experience is that most of them are overprice. I only visit a mall if it has a theatre and good eating places. I hardly do any shopping there.

  15. Yes agree with Rachna,
    they are overprice

I thank all of you for sparing your valuable time here in reading this post and for giving your views on the increasing Mall culture....

well, no doubt most of us here find it boring and costly but even then we like to go their and enjoy the fun..... this is what marketing is all about.... they make a situation which compel us to do what we don't want to do actually....

BTW My sincere thanx all of you, plz do come on my next post.
