Expressing Love with Time n Technology....

As we all know that in ancient times during early period of civilisation, when there was no language for them to interact with each other, people used to express themselves with certain facial expressions and indications...Historians believe that, prime reasons behind the development of language must have been Food, Security and Expression of Love n Sexual desire....

And in the long run with the development of language, people stared innovating new ways to express their Love and feelings, such as....Smiling, Staring, Wandering around, Leaving a note into books, writing their name together into a heart on trees n walls,  giving flowers n gifts etc...etc....

But after doing all this, just a two minutes affair of telling "I LOVE YOU" to each other was still a problem for them, and they used to take months and years for the right moment to come...So, just to avoid this two minutes nerve breaking situation, people started using "LOVE LETTER TECHNOLOGY"....

In fact for a long period of time this "LOVE LETTER TECHNOLOGY" was the most suitable n appropriate means for them, there was a sense of security into it, as the chances of situation getting adverse was less with love letters.

But slowly over the period of time these colourful Love letters were replaced by Telephones and Mobile Phones....Actually Phones have become an integral part of our Love Stories now, even the Bollywood heroes started telling.........."What is your mobile number????

But problem of saying 'I LOVE YOU" for the first time was still there, because after all Phone is not something which could enhance one's courage and confidence, so that He or She could simply dial a number and say  "Hello, I Love you"....

Therefore, to make it more easier n safer, people started sending some friendly n romantic SMSs with these Mobile Phones and keep on waiting for an affirmative reply from the other end, and once they start getting green signal in the form of SMSs, they could easily move forward and express their Love....

And now with the use of modern technologies n techniques our Gen-next has gone miles ahead, and before expressing their love to some one, they use search engines to look for some one who fits into their criteria and whom they can love, in their own way of course.....

So, for most of them expressing their love is no more a "Two Minutes Nerve Breaking" phenomenon now, rather its like making strategy before expressing their love to some one....and this LOVE, starting from search engines and then walking hand-in-hand in social networking sites,  happily ends with a "one night stay together"........
************************************************************************
here i leave you with a  typical n traditional Love Letter which i had read some where earlier...........

probably some of you might have got one like this at some point in ur life :)

  3. Interesting write up Irfaan. I haven't seen such short lived love stories among anybody I know so not sure if I can totally agree with you on that. If it happens that way it is not love at all, right?!

  4. IF that is what is really going on out there, I am very happy to be with someone and not looking for love in all the wrong places for all the wrong reasons!!

  14. haha so true! its the Information revolution after all! and it has provided people with the facilty of "delate" button...Once tagged as "kehtay hein jis ko Isheq, khalaul hai damgh ka.."is a matter of 2/3 quick chats before you decide to fall or not to fall for that person...there is no risk involved nw...take your chances,,explore the Cyber togetherness ...and if it doesnt work..no worries..delate+block marnay ka!

gone are the days when people hurt in love shed tears all their lives...and thus the world saw some great poets gifted by the this grief..par not today! nah nah...aj ka insan is too busy for that...;p

  24. Few decade back, married couples never used this word to express their feelings but they remained 'Made for each other'.

  25. Your post brought a big smile to my face .Specially 'prem patra ki kavita'.I do remember receiving few back in school days. Now a days text messages, emails, echats ,sexting are the words.
One can only hope for like what Ashwini said above -Modes of expressing love has been changing, but does Love really change ?

  26. @Ayyangar Sir.... very true, in fact saying I LOVE YOU now n then has got no meaning unless one actually feel it.... thank you Sir।

  27. This is very very interesting Irfan. I grew up between the love letters and online relationship fad...

Seeing how expressions evolved in such a way, I ask myself if there's more value on seeing the person at the other end (when it's an online relationship)...

I love receiving love letters, but most of those I received were very superficial... anyhow, the act itself is touching ;)...

Staring...looking at each other?...reminds me of my earlier days :P...

I google translated your poem...and this is my tip, just say it...hahaha ;)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Irfan just because someone says I love you and has met through one of the internet portals, it does not mean that their expression or love is frivolous. If the sentiment remains the same, I don't mind using the new ways of saying it to each other. But, your kavita is mindblowing.

  29. @irfan bhai- i totaly agree wit yo. i ve been a victim of such love. i wish vo prem vo jaman jaman ki kasme n all cud return back....:):)

  30. Irfan love that poem..!!! I have often seen couples on the phone all the time. I remember those days when we only had land lines which could not be used so easily to call or receive calls because we did not know who would answer the call. Ab to lagta hai hi kano mein hi directly bol sakte hain! There are also some ready made messages that you can SMS email. The human creativity of expressing love seems to have gone. And ofcourse the language of silence- no one uses it these days !

  31. Hello Irfanji,

    nice poem :D

  33. Irfan bhai...one night stands have become common...technology, changing lifestyles, changing values may be the culprits......having a g/f and b/f is considered a fad, although the conversion rate of this relationship into marriage is low i would say.....

    btw cute poem....:-)

  34. hi irfan, thanks for translating it is nice and simple,

i have really beautiful memories about letters ,cannot say it love letters because before marriage me and my husband used to write each other for almost twice in a week ,it went for almost two years,
we both have kept all these letters still in our drawers,

whenever i read them strange joy and strength comes along, but one thing makes me smile that if someone else read it will never call them LOVE LETTERS because there is no expression of teen feelings but just sharing of daily life,

but in deep my heart know they are true love letters

    god bless irfan

@Rachna.... even i never said that developing a relation through net or whatever is not good, in fact i only tried to explain how ppl changed in expressing themselves with time....and kavita, you know it reminds so many things... :)

@Divyansh.... lets hope so and my wishes are always with you..... thanks a lot.

  44. Really, the way to express love is changing generation wise! My God to love we need some criteria and that has made most famous lines ''Love Is Unconditional'' false ,So finally we need some conditions to love anyone!Ridiculous, isn't it? BTW..beautiful lines in that love letter;) ..Nice post indeed..
    Take care
