" Bapu and Violence "

Today is 30th Jan., if you remember, its the death anniversary of  Mahatma Gandhi "Bapu" ( i just could not remember bcoz it was not a national holiday, got to know only through news paper)......
Whenever we think of Bapu, we think of his idea about  "Non-Violence"....... about  "Ahinsaa".... but if you look around in our society, we find that there is only Violence left in the land of Bapu.....
You must be remembering Jessica Lall's murder... its about twelve years of this senseless murder...
But its not only Jessica who had been killed without any reason, but there are many like her, and some of these I am sharing here to you with  grief.... these incidents are enough to show that how much violent people are in Bapu's land of Ahinsaa..........

1- A TAP : August 2010-
When a man in Geeta Colony, New Delhi woke up and found a stranger's bucket placed under his tap, his rage could not be quenched. He set off to find the offender..... his 19 year old neighbour and stabbed him to death.
2- CHICKEN TIKKA: Dec.2010- In Rohini, New Delhi, Himanshu(24), bumped into a man, spilling his food.....the man and his friend beat up Himanshuh, then shot him in the chest..... enough to kill him on the spot.

3- A KEY:Nov.2010- Ram Prasad(41) in Bindapur, West Delhi, accidently misplaced a set of his friend's keys..... Upon finding that he had been locked out of his room, the friend beat Ram Prasad to death.......

4- WINE : Dec.2010- Manu(25), a liqour vendor in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi was killed when he informed a customer that his particular brand of wine was not available for sale....

5-SCREW DRIVER: Jan.2011- In Zaffrabad, Delhi, cell fone shop worker Bilal(17) was shot dead by four men for a screw driver. The mobile shop did not had a screw driver to oblige them....

This is what, going on in the land of Bapu....
The man who always insisted for Ahinsaa.........

  2. Ya this proves how much less value we have for the human life in our Country..One more reason for such a mind set could be the number of people in our country..China has more people but I guess things aren't that bad..there but China is not a democracy..people don't have freedom there..we have it so we misuse it ...

  3. "Whenever you are confronted with an opponent, conquer him with love"..... Mahatma Gandhi
these are kept in books only, we never think about these sayings of Bapu...
more over these incidents do occur bcoz we are much more egoistic now a days....
A thought provocative post by you irfan

  4. People have become intolerant...With all the cynicism pervading I am worried that the India story should not die..Thanks for reminding. Bapu must be squirming somewhere.

  5. Bapu will return in some other Avtaar as the basis of this country is SATVA.Mark my words.
People in general are disgusted with going ons in and around us.That is resulting in anger and frustration. Dont you see the climate of change close to our neighbouring countries?

  6. @Thinking: yaa, there are.... but corruption.. scams... violence etc, so much dominating these days that smiling seems a bit difficult :(

@Harshad: agree with you... democracy has taught us about our rights only and not about duties.... so we just misuse our freedom...

@Pathak ji: yaa, our ego is an important reason for these violence occurring

@Alka ji: agree with you.... tolerance is very much lagging in us now a days

@Chowla sir: i wish he return in an Avtaar sooner than later.....

  7. I had no idea of the annivaersary and that because I choose it that way , I dont apprecate the way of Gandhi to me h did more wrong then right for the country.

One should read history adn all his life most of the promises he made wee unfulfilled... Most of the satyagrahs or whatever they called that were taken out and THE ONES WHICH WEE DOING GOOD.. were stopped in the middle

and In the next 50 odd years or mabe a 100 He will be one of the GODS ... There were many many unsung heroes whose death and birth or EVEN the ACTS they did FOR THE COUNTRY .. so how can we go on and on ON ONE when it was not JSUT GANDHI who did and to point it i dont think he made any scrifise also during the struggle ..

  8. Feeling very bad that the people living on the land Of Bapu had forgot about their Father's policy of TRUTH AND NON-VOILENCE!!
Day by day we are becoming aggressive and that's making us low.
If we want to give him tribute we must follow his policies !!

    Nice post !!
    Keep Writing..

  9. Unbelievable. Its just so sad to read about all that, the sheer madness of it. Hard to believe I must admit.

And a very interesting take for a blog post, to be honest. Very rarely one comes across such different topics, very little if any.

And if "there is only Violence left in the land of Bapu", I can also tell you from experience that pretty much is the case in the land of Jinnah these days.

  10. One day I killed a "machchhar". My grandfather slapped me and said remember never kill innocent insects or other animals. That kind of education we have to give to our children from birth.

  11. @Bikramjit: well...its debatable i think.... and yaa, one must go through history.....

    @Simran: yaa.. we must !!!

@Gr8 Liar: believe it or not... its fact only.. there are FIRs in respectuve area's police station....

  13. It is sad to see how little respect people have for lives of others. Uncontrolled rage is the cause but apparent reason is not the real cause of rage. It is the frustration of other day to day issues that comes out on trivial issues....but that is my opinion

  14. Thats quite an eloquent display of sorry events...
but I think thats becoming a common place in all the lands whether its Bapu's land or any other land for that matter...
There is an unquenchable thirst for power among mases and for this they are ready to cross any limits...

  17. Well...maybe its the global warming thats heating up the minds I guess :P

Jokes apart,it is alarming the violence is increasing day by day and is being used for stupid reasons. We don't have the patience nowadays to forgive and forget. And also the laws are simply non-existent,else at least people won't resort to violence at the drop of the hat.

  18. Its so shameful to see how we value something as precious as life so less. Better we stop the violence now or going back would just get more and more difficult.
